RM is quite correct, live yoghurt will replace the helpful bacteria that are also killed-off by the anti-biotic. Live yoghurt will help to redress the balance. Cranberry juice can be very good for it as well. To get your body accepting food again, try very bland things like dry toast (maybe Bovril or Marmite on it for the vitamin content and taste), potatoes, other bland carbs - don;t worry, you won't put on weight doing this, your body uses all of it. After a couple of days, I try adding hard-boiled egg to my diet - a kill or cure test. Avoid any other dairy products until you are feeling great again.
If it is still like this three days after you went on the simple diet, you need to see a pharmacist who can recommend something to get your system back on track. I use Gaviscon, but you must see a pharmacist rather than take a person's recommendation, I am not qualified and a pharmacist will know what you can take with other medicines.
See your pharmacist as soon as you can and I do hope you feel better soon.

I was recently on antibiotics too, it dehydrated me totally and I did not want to eat. The thing is, as someone said here before, the most important thing is to drink loads of water, don't let your body dehydrate. And try eating as much as you can, I know it's not easy when you are not hungry but think about your well being. Bananas are very good, they have good fats and some other stuff that's really good for you when you are ill. Also kiwis, they have loads of vitamins, also cranberries. Try avoiding caffeine, instead drink juice if you wish to change from water. And do some gentle exercise, like walking, that with the fresh air, will do you loads of good!
Hope you feel better soon! :-)

It may be that your bowel flora has been upset. Take some lactobacillus tablets with each meal and things should turn around in a few days. Keep taking these tablets for at least a month after being on antibiotics. Some say 3 months.

So you're speaking to your doctor about this and everything's okay?
This is the most important thing.
I lost my appetite for a few days recently. I made myself have at least one glass of smoothie a day (good fruit content) and at least one proper meal, whether or not I wanted it. If you still feel sick as you eat, then have soups with bread. Soups are hard to really object to, but you just need to keep making yourself eat. And keep getting medical advice.
Make sure you change any water bottles/glasses you use, as I accidentally reinfected myself by overlooking this point. Also think about getting fresh air into your home and changing bedding.

Maybe you should just consult your doctor although I think it is the nauseated feeling is inevitable with harsh antibiotics. Maybe your doctor can either stop the medication since it's been over ten days or perhaps prescribe a milder form. I hope you feel better!

antibiotics don't just kill what's making you sick. They also kill the naturally occuring flaura and fauna in your gut that you need to digest food. No flaua and fauna... the food sits there, rotting in your gut... you're not hungry. Try putting it back with live foods. Live foods are foods with living enzymes, cultures and bacteria in them. For example... Organic yogurt with 2 or more active cultures, raw pickles from the dairy case, malta, imported german beer, organic cheese, etc.
Once they are reintroduced into your gut, your appitite should return to you... since you will be able to digest your food again. And when I specify organic it is because the non organics are dead from the preservatives and over heating process. Use organics for live cultures.

Antibiotics may be responsible for the nausea you're feeling - but you don't say why you're on them - it could also be a symptom of your infection.
Take acidophilus to regrow your friendly intestinal bacteria, and eat live yoghurt, both these things should undo the effects of the antibiotics.
Good luck!

Try drinking lots of water so that any acid is flushed through your system. You could also take something like Gaviscon which will settle your stomach. Also eat little and often and avoid spicy or greasy foods.
