- Oh, that's easy, See, The bricks are yellow, & the road is made entirely out of these same bricks.

It would be a bit hard to call it the YELLOW brick road if they were red now wouldnt it?

Because it resembles gold or a pathway paved with gold. It's sort of a religious reference to the "path was paved with gold leading to heaven" and at the end of the path, each person was happy and received what they searched for the most - a heart, brain, courage, etc. I assume you are talking about the Wizard of Oz.
