In past years, I used to look forward to New Years Day and the football games. Now the first game doesn't even start until 5, and the other major bowls are at night, and on different nights until January 8 - who can stay up until midnight?
Also, as usual, too many games. A 6 and 6 team doesn't deserve to play in a bowl. I have too many complaints to mention. I don't know if a play off system would be perfect - some good teams would always be left out of the mix-but it would be an improvement. Barring that, I would go back to the old system. Any ideas for a change/or other ways to express my anger? Thanks for letting me vent!

There has to be a playoff. Just look at Michigan and Wisconsin this year. Michigan was clearly the 2nd best team in the country, but they aren't playing for a national title. Wisconsin, even though they are ranked 5th in the country, can't play in a BCS game because each conferance can only have 2 teams. So they are being penalized for playing in the best conferance in college football. The only way to solve this problem is drop 1 or 2 weeks from the regular season, and have like 8-10 team playoff. Settle it on the field, not by voters.

a playoff system would be disastrous....why the hell should 8-4 penn state not get any post season play? BTW, watch the outback bowl new years day...starts at 11 eastern

the BCS is not perfect, but its prob the best thing for Division 1

if you would rather go back to the old system, where you let the polls determine the national champion, then you're a friggin moron

Use to be angry about it. Now I just don't watch college football and I won't unitl Division 1 goes to a playoff system. That is the only legitimate way to crown a national champion.

i'm ready for a playoff system. Even Division 2 and 3 have playoffs. Why does Division I have to be different. I hate the BCS, and the people who came up with the idea.

I agree with you.

This is a good forum to vent. Far better than going postal at work on Monday, anyway.

No sport is the same as when we were kids. Capitalism has sucked the marrow out of all professional sports. If you can't enjoy the current system, do what I do and ignore it.

I'm with you. They need to set up a playoff system. Also rans like Rice got into a bowl. There's something wrong with a system that would allow that.
