Drugs, illegal exotic animals, theft scams, cons and slave/sex trades, Why are we humans so greedy? I dont understand why people are so greedy? Someone is buying all of the drugs, animals that are almost extinct from poachers, people selling childrend into the slave trade. God help them, what is the point of the money? You cant take it with you? You can only sleep in one bed at a time, drive one car at a time and the ones that think they are cool because they have so much, need to consider the blood from the how they got it. I have been embarrassed to part of the human race since I was five and it just keeps getting worse. I want some answers to what I can do to help stop this blood bath, disregard to human life, theft, cons, scams and things I havent even heard about. Please Yahoo'ers, think about what we can do to stop this. Thank you for your sincere consideration.

For many the accumulation of material things, which money can provide, is their only ticket to happiness.
Since they are never able to find happiness in those things they seek more and more.
Sad lifestyle in my opinion.

First of all, greed is not the problem. It is envy.

There is a point to the accumulation of wealth. You make life better for yourself, and you give yourself the capacity to make life better for other people. The problem is when people accumulate wealth by leeching off the society. There you have your slavers. There you have your thieves.

How to stop them? The laws are already in place. The theories are sound. The problem has always been enforcement. The getting up to actually do something about it. How much have you done to actually stop drugs in your neighborhood? Have you gone out of your way to help an addicted friend get over the addiction?

This is my opinion.....no source.
Why are humans so greedy? I believe it has to do with our base instincts of being able to survive and provide for our fellows. Unfortunately, we have not yet realised that we no longer live in the jungle, hence we see the gains of others as a short-coming in ourselves, we see what other's have and we subconsciously think "I am not a good provider, I need to get more to provide like he/she does". "Keeping up with the Joneses" syndrom. So, because we cannot completely annihilate our instincts, we just adapt them to deal with the here and now.
Solution? I think the issue of inequality is the driver of this problem. Not everyone has access and ability to earn a billion like idiot movie stars and sports people (it is outrageous what they get in return for doing absolutely nothing for the betterment of the planet and man and animal kind!!!). Those that don't have but want will go to any lengths to keep up with their neighbours and our survival and providing instincts allow us to override our ethical conscience. Capitalism allows us to get as much as we want and then some. Imagine if there could be a limit to the number of cars per household; the prices of goods - not communism, but reformed capitalism.

I'm unfortunately also ashamed of being a part of the human race....we are selfish, ungrateful, parasites! We have to put an end to this otherwise the planet will kick us off! I think its happening already.

Didn't we try to change this once? Carl Marx wrote a little book. The idea of Communism works. It's actually perfect. People screw it up. It's human nature to try to get more out of less. No matter how much money we could have, there's always going to be someone who wants to take more than their share.

My advice to you is to fall in love. I know where you're comming from, I honestly do. The human race seems doomed. You're outlook on people change when there's someone good in your life.

The only way to rid society of greed is to make everything free...food, clothes, shelter, education,

If it were all without intrinsic value then the need to have it would be gone....then we could focus on what is important...self improvement and devotion to religion without distraction.

because they are inconsiderate bastards. they do not know that it is in having too much that we let others suffer. "we people should learn to live in the edge so others might as well live."

i think it is the mind set that it is material that separates us from others.

the solution is let them suffer too. let them live in nothingness. then the next question is how?
