Santa Claus is a commercialized, secular version of Saint Nicholas. Think SANTAs NiCLAUS. Santa delivers toys down chimneys based off St. Nicholas who would throw bags of money down chimneys or through windows of the poor. People focus on Santa because he has become an icon that the secular world can use to sell products. Jesus doesn't market materialistic items. So, they use Santa for marketing and because he is religious in a way that Jesus or Saint Nicholas is. Santa can reach a wider audience according to Christmas sales.

First off, Jesus Christ was not born on December 25. The tradition of celebrating it came about as the Catholic Church adopted the custom from the pagan Winter Solstice religion. Scholars believe he was actually born around late March - early April.
The focus comes from what people truly value! When people don't want to face the fact that they are in need of salvation, they will focus more on a mythical gift giver who flies with reindeer, then the gift of the Omnipotent and Omnipresent creator taking on the form of human flesh as a baby, to grow up to become the blood sacrifice that would redeem us from our sins. Santa does not convict people of the fact that they are fallen and unrighteous, and offers a false comfort to people who want a "warm fuzzy" instead of facing the true meaning of what the incarnation of God in the flesh meant.

Santa Claus takes out all the meaning from Christmas, therefore making it "holiday" friendly. Money, is money, Santa seems to have some good PR.

Its becoming more & more"acceptable" to focus on Santa. Its more taboo to recognize Jesus. I agree it should be Jesus. Try to find a outside nativity scene to display. Or for that matter how many stores replace "Merry Christmas" with Happy Holidays. The world is so afraid to offend another. I worship Jesus. But Im not offended if someone says "happy Hannakah " or "Happy Kwansaa" id turn & say "the same to you".

wintry climate wonderland? no longer something - this is in simple terms commercial. Santa Claus is derived from a Christian Saint - Saint Nicholas who gave presents to undesirable toddlers. December twenty 5th replaced into the date chosen by employing Christian is Rome 1700 years in the past. before calendars coach no pagan ceremonial dinner on that date. The bible does not say or supply any indication of the main concepts-blowing date of Christ's beginning so December is in simple terms as in all possibility as September or the different time of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. The Christmas tree represents the Biblical Tree of existence. and, metaphorically, Christ himself. yuletide is the Germanic/Norse word for wintry climate. Vikings, who held wintry climate (yuletide) feasts. moved their feasting to Christmas, Dec twenty 5th, whilst they grew to alter into Christian - they used the ceremonial dinner to have fun the beginning of Christ - Christmas. From then on, yuletide got here to intend Christmas in Scandinavian languages. Christian have fun the Nativity - the beginning of Christ - at Christmas and have finished so for 1700 years or greater so I see no reason to renounce now.

Most people only use Santa as an addition to the Holiday-it is a way of giving children a personality they can identify with who sets a good example that they can admire-a forerunner to Christ you might say-It's not really a big deal-unless of course your determined to make it one. I have a feeling you will.

Because not everyone finds it easy that a man would be born to die for our sins. Of course, it's sooo much easier to believe that a jolly old fat man travels the world leaving presents for children.
