Disneyland, every year for the past 4 years, even the year I had to work there on New Year's Eve. It's not as crowded as you'd think, there's lots of food, most people are in a good mood, and there's a bar at California Adventure :) The fireworks kick ***, and it's pretty safe but still crazy. We used to go to Vegas, but once it took 13 hours to drive home and that was the last time. I don't like driving right after midnight cause that's when all the drunks are out, I like to wait till 3 or 4 when they're all asleep.
I'd love to spend New Year's at the beach at a bonfire party or something like that one year, or in London, OK Hawaii too :)

We' will be in bed before the midnight hour.
However we do see it in.
We live on a border where one state has daylight savings time and the other doesn't.
This is the only time that it is an advantage to living right on the border.
We go across and celebrate New Years on the beach with thousands of party-goers (fireworks courtesy of the council), then go home to bed before midnight.
The older you get the fewer New Years one sees in.

Stay home, and round up the kids I'll be babysitting for the night. I typically take in kids on that night. The pay is good, and there are a lot of activities that the kids can do, and we call celebrate the countdown and munch on treats and watch videos.
I don't celebrate New Years like I used to. I'm too old for that, now. I would rather have the kids here, celebrating in a safe, healthy environment, than with their parents, who are, no doubt, partying it up, in their homes, or elsewhere.
It's just another day for me.

I do travel to my home village, after i have settled down, i will find a nearby church when it 10.00pm to pray my way to 2007. I will first ask God to forgive me my trespasses and pray for a new revolution in the year to come. I will pray till the 12.00 clock click and wish anyone beside me a blissful happy new year before thinking of another thing to do.

I don't have to "head to New York" cause I live in Manhattan - I'm just going to go out to the bar and have a few drinks while I ring in the new year.

For years I've spent New Years at either a party, making huge ice cream sundaes with my kids, dancing etc.
This year my kids will be with their dad . . . so I've made plans to attend an overnight Zen meditative retreat with 5 other friends.
I'll be meditating with a group of others at midnight. Looking forwarding to ringing in the New Year centering myself.
Next morning friends and myself will take 10 minute walk from the Zen retreat to the ocean and welcome in the new year.
