I think it has more to do with whether or not the "nice" guy IS really dumb, and not so "cleaver."

It could be due to a character flaw in the man that he just doesn't see in himself. OR she is the one with the character flaw!! OR the two people just aren't attracted to each other. You have to "CLICK" with each other it may not be a question of intelligence. It may be she has a different set of priorities then he does. I'd say find a woman that is on the same page as he is.

Well adjusted, intelligent, women don't think a respectful and nice man is dumb. Its what they expect.
There are immature, emotionally damaged and/or stupid women who may think as you claim they do; so just stay away from them.

No one can presume to know what another is thinking. This is a maturity issue on both ends. Most women go through a "bad boy" phase, but they usually get over it.

I think everyone is neurotic and unaware of their motives about sex. Sex has come to involve much more than the desire to reproduce. There are more hangups about sex than I can count. If you find someone you are truly compatible with you are very very fortunate.
