any side may be the base,... but depending on the shape of the triangle you may find it easier to select one side to be the base rather than another, if the angles make it easier to calculate a height.

you are potentially allowed to take any side of the triangle as its base but it does depend upon the use of the triangle and why you are asking if it is for an assignment then you ought to have been given at least one length and two angles then you would use the length as the base if however you have been given one angle and two lengths you would use the angle as the top or apex of the triangle there are certain traditions to follow also check the book btech first mathematics for technicians by A Greer and J W Taylor for a more comprehensive look at triangles

Absolutely; it won't matter which triangle is the base.
Knowing what the base is usually serves relevance only when finding the area of a triangle. Of course, your height will depend on what you choose for your base. For that reason, it's best to stick to the simplest base you can (i.e. for a right angle triangle, you would NEVER choose your hypotenuse as your base).

No we cannot take any side of triangle as its base.
Reason:-The base of a triangle is the datum and this depend on the rotation of the triangle or the predefined side as given

Although you usually take the one on the ground, if you know a perpendicular to some other side, then take that side as a base.

Yes,
however any other measurements must be consistent with this. e.g. If you are measuring the area of the triangle then the height must be measured from your chosen base, not another side.

the base of a triangle can be decided if we know the height of the triangle.
it depends for which purpose u want the base.
if it is required for trignometrical calculations the base is decided accordingly.

yes - only important bit is the height - perpendicular from the point opposite the base, all the way down to the base!!
