people in general are judgemental. and first impression is always negative about a bunch of tattoos. but individuals who start to know you or already know you even before you had tattoos can educate themselves on the real person you are.

this was a choice you made, just like having piercings or a dressing up differently - it's you against the whole world who sees you. You may be accepted by a certain group, not on another. Accepted later by someone as who you are and other may just never understand it.

That"s life!

Many people would look down because its different, especially the older generations. People are scared of things that are different from them. Some may see a tattoo and think "prison" or criminal. I don't. I see tattoos as a type of decoration, an insight to the persons psyche. How can I think otherwise when I have tattoos myself? Thankfully some people are realizing that just because someone has a tattoo, doesn't mean that he/she is a screwup or a criminal that will rob you blind.

There are 3 types of people that have different mindsets:

1) People who don't look down on you.
They'll feel it's a form of art, nothing's wrong with it (most prob like how you think about tattoos)

2) People who do look down on you.
They'll feel it's rough and tough, like gangster-style. If not, then they'll feel that it looks indecent, or that you're trying to look rough and tough. Either that, or they'll just think you're showing off.

3) People who are intimidated by you.
This group doesn't think much, but once tattoos are seen, they'll probably run to the other end of the street. These are usually the easily bullied type.

I dunno which is the majority in your town, it really depends what type of people your town produces.. :) I hope this helps.

First and foremost..some people will look down on you.Why?..its bcoz people think that onli gangsters and thugs and those people who does illegal things. But dont worry coz its okay.Your just having a beautiful piece of art work on your body and i rest assure you there will be some people who will appreciate it.Just like me i have many friends who have their body covered with tattoos.Yet they are all very successful! They own their own businesses and live in big houses! And i didnt even look down on them when i met them and havent know about their lives i even told them "hey the piece of art work on you is beautiful!" and they were shocked by what i said. They use to regret having tattoos on their body but now they dont!So dont feel upset or what ever over that.

I can only speak for myself. If you walked past me sporting 33 tattoos, I'd probably stare. But that would be because I'd want to figure out what they all are. =)

i can't speak for society, but i personally admire people covered in tattoos. getting tattoos is like making yourself into a work of art.

i don't, but people do tend to. from everything i've heard, it's because the human body is considered a work of art. covering it with your own expressions of art is seen as a sin or as a disgrace to what you were born with. unfortunately not all people are as open minded about others forms of expression...
mind you I don't have any tattoos of my own.

No. Those who look down at individuals with tatoos are being prudes. Basically, they have forgotten that everybody has their own means of expression. Just totally disregard what people say. As long as you feel confortable with it. That's all that matters. Plus, some people find some tatoos as being sexy.

well there's a lot of people who believe sterotypes. and some of those sterotypes are "people with tattoos are freaks" or "people who have tattoo's aren't sucessful, because they can't get a job" theese are all sterotypes that people believe. the reason why is because they're dumb and judge people by just their apperance. SO PROVE THEM WORNG
