This is reposted because someone didn't like the idea the question asked men their opinion; so we can try again, although I sort of suspect the results. LOL

Most of the ladies don't seem to understand that the best makeup is the makeup you can NOT see. Some women look better with no makeup at all.

I think a little makeup, tastefully used, can enhance a womans appearance and make her feel better about herself.

I, personally, almost never wear makeup and when I do it's minimal - eyeliner, lipstick, a little blush. I can't remember the last time I wore anything but chapstick.

To answer your question, I think heavy makeup looks artificial, and sometimes grotesque. But I live in an area where little or no makeup is the norm rather than the exception. When I go outside my community I always notice how much makeup women wear.

I remember 'accidentally' spending a week in Daton Ohio and not being able to tell the natural skin tone of ANY of the women there. I've never seen such heavy makeup in my life, it was like all the women were wearing masks. It was really weird. And all the women were all such complete b*tches to me (no offense to anyone from Daton - this was just my perception), even the ones I only talked to on the phone. And I've never met so many completely h*rny guys in one week in my entire life. Every single male I dealt with, including all the males at the printing vendor I was visiting (business trip) hit on me. Every one. The bus boys, waiters, room service guys, taxi drivers, store clerks. I tried to use the pool at my hotel and had to leave. And I was wearing sweats, T-shirts and tennies the whole time because I was only scheduled to be there for 4 hours that turned into a week! (And YES, Mardy and Joshua, I WAS wearing a bra.) I finally just holed up in my room for the last few days. It was the strangest travel experience I ever had...I felt like I was on another planet and was carrying sexual kryptonite or something... I can only attrubute my 'popularity' to the fact that those poor guys could see what I actually looked like!

Heh...Makeup is supposed to enhance your natural features, not hide them. I know people overuse it, but it's not as bad as people say. Over the years of experimenting, I've learned that you can do wonders with makeup. It can literally make you look like a clown, turn someone into a monster (theatrical makeup), or just give that person a glow for their wedding day, graduation, or any other important days in their life.

What's wrong with this world today is that models are airbrushed, celebrities have professionals doing their hair and makeup, nothing ever looking out of place. And girls want to replicate that. But who are we to say what's perfect and what's not? What's beautiful and what's not? Everyone is beautiful in their own way, we're just blinded by society's definition of beauty that we see the worst in us and try to make ourself feel better by caking on makeup by the gallon...yet only to look worse.

The idea behind make-up is to enhance (make better) a woman's natural beauty. If a woman follows this rule, and wears her make-up in a natural fashion she is fine. However, some women do wear make-up excessively creating an entirely different image (a clown). As with anything else, wear it in moderation.

wearing too much make-up sends the wrong message, that your hidig something under all that makeup, you have low self-esteem.(and of coarse you're always supposed to look confident) or that you're just a slut. My friend had wore alot of make-up, she looked like she was a pornstar/slut/dragqween/and worse of all UGLY but when she took it off she'd look BEAUTIFUL. so to answer you question a person should only wear just a little bit of make-up. keeping it looking natural

I like with little or no makeup because its always a shock when you wake up next to them and they look like a gremlin without it, if they wear alot. Plus any girl that uses a paint roller to put on makeup is a definite turnoff.

Being a woman, I think we all can use a little help. It just makes a woman look more polished. Heavy makeup should be left for night clubbing or hookers and strippers.

no makeup, seriously. human beings are never perfect, and sometimes, it is the little flaws that make us beautiful and unique. a truly beautiful person is one who radiates blushes of good health.

if a woman is born pretty, she doesn't require anymore makeups.

but if she is ugly, makeup will only make her look worse. (like adding salt to the wound)

Actually there are women who look better without make-up or less make-up or even heavy make-up. Then for my husband, he like me best without make-up. But for me for a change, I like less touch of make-up. For me it brings out a more beauty on your face.

It depends on the woman and her coloring, etc. I'm a natural redhead and my eyelashes are blonde. Without mascara and a little eyeliner, my big green eyes barely show up. I have a friend who is Pakastani, however, and she is GORGEOUS without a bit of makeup on.
