Whatever you do, DO NOT take ninasgramma's advice. Everyone else is RIGHT ON though. Do Not pay the $15 bucks. You did not take it, and someone counted the drawer to verify that the till was correct, and signed off that is was correct..screw it. I feel the way all the other answerers feel. If your employer makes an issue of it then sue for unemployment if you're fired. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. It may only be $15, but it's the principle of the matter. Besides, if there has been a larger amount of money missing after this incident and the same person that counted your till is involved then speak up---your boss is trying to play you stupid and so is the real thief. Like the other answer read, paying it will only make you seem guilty. Do what you feel is best though. There are other jobs out there, but if you thought that paying (by the way, do not say re-paying because it sounds like an admission of guilt) that money was the "right" thing to do then you wouldn't have asked the question. Think about it and go with your conscience.

It is not worth $15 to get fired. If it is policy for you to actually count the money, then you got cheated out of $15 that someone else swiped. A cheap lesson to learn, count it yourself and never be casual about cash that you are responsible for.
If money went missing the next time, your boss knows what's up so you should be OK. Pay up and never mention it again.

If you think the job is worth it pay, tell them you had nothing to do with it but you will pay because you love the job, if you think u can find a equally valued job or better, fight, tell them you didnt take the money and will not pay it back. Try to catch the person stealing the money in the act, if you get evidence then there you go that might even earn you a promotion.

If the other person counted the drawer and verified that it was correct, then there is nothing your employer can do to you. Before you get fired, make a copy of the form the other person filled out showing your drawer was fine. You can take legal action for wrongful termination. Whatever you do, don't pay the money because in a court of law, it is equivalent to admitting guilt.

During the change of shift, if both of u has signed off that the amount was correct, then its NOT YR FAULT. You shouldn't take the blame for it. You may want to bring this to someone higher than yr boss (seeing that he does not believe u) and if you can give the proof that the other person is the gulity one, tell it to the relevent person. You may even report it to the police and get it done legally. Surely, some gulity person will own up by then..good luck

I would definitely NOT repay it. By doing so, you are basically admitting that you did take it.
Definitely fight for unemployment benefits if need be.
Definitely report this incident at the corporate level.

If you signed something saying the money was right then there's not much you can do to report them, that's why they have you sign the paper. My opinion is you should tell your boss what happened and tell them you will pay it back but you didn't take it.If you need the job anyway.

No, I wouldn't repay it. I would say the person who worked is friends or dating someone in management and you're the scapegoat.
