It depends on the person. If they are very materialistic I'd say go with a gift. But something non-materialistic would be good as well, I guess.

Good deeds are very thoughtful gifts and remembered forever. For example an elderly or ill person that needs their leaves raked, or have no way to get to a doctor. One of the nicest things is to ask someone what you can do for them that would make their life more comfortable. Then when you are all done say Merry Christmas. I guarantee they will appreciate what you have done. It is a great idea to do this type of thing for people all year long, when you have time, even an hour of help can make a huge difference in someone's life.

I think they are very appropriate...but it all depends on the person. It is very sad that in this day and age that some people do not even realize sometimes when a good deed is being done for them. It is a great gift to give of one self to another in need!!!! Never forget that.

Good deeds cannot be purchased. Good deeds also are never out of time, and last a lifetime IF they are done with meaning from the heart. Doing them out of guilt for what one has done the rest of the year is false. There is never not a time to do something nice for a person, and a holiday is no excuse for doing them IF one is a good person with a good heart with good intentions.

Good deeds are always good, especially when you see someone needs one done. Never purchase something when it can be given from the heart without a money cost,it is the spirit with which the gift is given ........Not the cost.

It depends and more details would help, but I believe good deeds should be a part of daily life, and Christmas is much too special for that.
