No way will that work! That's the strangest type of discipline that I've heard. When you see that she is about to make on the carpet, put her leash on, quick, and take her outside, so that she knows to make outside and not insode the house. If you do that every time, then she will eventually learn not to go on the carpet. Also, if you walk it a few times a day, it will relieve itself and won't have anything left to go with on your carpet. Believe me, I've cleaned up my share of dog poop. It stinks. If she still goes once in a while, don't hit the dog, and don't yell like a madman. Use a stern voice and tell her what she did was wrong. Don't touch the dog. Until she shows that she recognizes that what hse did was wrong, don't leave her alone. Usually, the tail will go between the legs and the ears will go back. She'll probably make those cute little puppy eyes to show that she's sorry. But, good luck with that. Umm, but once the poop is out of the dog, how about you leave it there? Good luck with that, hope everything works out.

It'll teach the puppy absolutely nothing! It'll certainly cause physical and emotional problems in it. It would, though, help if you remove the scent from the carpet, point it out to the puppy when he does go that is wrong, and then take the pup outside, right away, and show it where it needs to go potty. Taking the puppy out more often, after feeding time, after it drinks, and after it wakes up from a nap, would really help.
Potty training also depends from the size and age of a pup: if too young, the attention/learning span is way too short; if too small, as in toy breeds, they're not built to hold it for long periods of time.

My dog used to do this when he was a puppy, by shouting at the dog, you just frighten him for a couple of minutes. What we did was just stick his head near it - and say no - my dog never pooed in the house again, he always made up let him out.

No, that's cruel and unhealthy and it will teach her nothing, she won't understand why you are doing such a thing. Take her for walks more often, until she poops outside, until this becomes a habit. If you can't properly care for a dog, don't have one in the flat.

try getting really mad
but you have to catch them in the act or else it doesn't work
then drag it outside and tell it NO and leave it outside for a while
don't really hurt it though that'd be really bad
