Spending the money would be a full time job, so no I'd quit working.

It actually depends because you can spend 1 million dollars on just a few cars then all the money will be gone straight away but if you use the money wisely not on very expensive things you might try and quit work but you should tell your boss first that you will not be working for a long while or short while and MAY come back.

Yes, I'd show up to work as not to raise any suspicions that I was rich. It could get rather sticky if everyone found out and started asking for loans. I'd hire an investment strategist to help me make some investments, hide a bit away in a Swiss account then take a leave of absence from my job. Go traveling, work on my photography and screen plays and hopefully squeak out a peaceful existence. Probably open up a tea shop somewhere and join the Rosicrucians.

Yes, a million is really not all that much...it's not possible for one to live off of a million dollars for the rest of their life if they are as young as me in North America. If I wanted to move to someplace where a million dollars seems to be a lot more, perhaps I could do it, but I'd rather not.

Besides, what could I possibly do with all of that free time?

I would put the money in a high yield savings account for two years while I work and collect $50,000/yr in interest. Then I would quit my job and live off the $50,000/yr forever!

I would make up a fake at home job that I would tell everyone I was doing. Then I would write a book about how I made my millions on this work-from-home job and sell it to people and make billions!

I actually have thought about this. If i won a million dollars, i would not work anymore. . Now, the quitting thing, i would not even show up that day. I wouldn't call or nothing. . . .. . I would be a millionaire and wouldn't care if they were short handed or not.

actually if I had a million dollars I WOULD go to work. I'd be able to get the medical attn I've needed for my whole life that would make me marketable in the workforce. If you think laying around in a state of depression wishing you had the nutz to commit suicide is the perfect life.... well, anyways. Money doesn't change that. Purpose does.

Yep, I'd still go to work. I love my job and after you're done shopping, what else is there to do besides sit at home all day eating and watching TV? And seriously, how far does a million really go these days?

well, if you don't have a job, you really have to find something else to do to occupy your time. It gets very boring sitting around playing on the internet and watching tv. So, if you had something else productive to do, if I did, then I would quit. Just like I quit any other job.
