drumpff is correct. Area Code 220 will overlay Area Code 740 in Central and Southeast Ohio. As of March 21, 2015 area code 740 customers must use 10-digit dialing for all local calls.

220 is a "new" area Code in Central and Southeast Ohio. They have run out of 740 area code phone numbers and will be issuing new 220 area code phone numbers there.
