It seems like it's taboo in our society to go to sleep late, even if you don't have to get up early. I work from home, for myself. No bosses. I can sleep as long as I want... and because of this, I like to go to bed late. I like the nights. It's quiet. No phones. Dogs. Doorbells. Hassles. What do YOU think? Thank you...

It's any or a combination of the ff:

- many believe that to lead a healthy life, a person should have at least 7 hours of sleep;
- that a person is less efficient when working at night
- that you are altering your biorythm which may not be good
- they hate the fact that you're accomplishing more than them
- day people can no longer interact with you
- they can't appreciate what you're doing when they're asleep
- they think you're different from the rest
- they think that evils lurk during the night and you could be possessed
- they simply hate night owls

clearly early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.
but lack of sleep makes a person dumb and dumber and poor in spirit and intelligence.

it is a proven fact that drugs make a person not sleep, and more drugs make a person stupid. But being sober is the best fight against ignorance

i agree with you wholeheartedly about working at night but if the entire sky is fill with chem trails and those chemicals are mercury and aluminum and some benzodrine types, then you will always breath stupidity. I know i always do. The sunlight is a cure for toxins in the blood and in the body, but the body can only metabolize so much in a dark night or in a building without sunshine. personally i believe that the coffee and sugar are poisoned at most places ive worked. and it does not matter if you can escape most of these evil poisoners. Some will still find a way.
working at night is a chemical imbalance already, we who enjoy working without large numbers of people areound just have to deal with and enjoy as much as possible.

... going to bed late is NOT "taboo." That's a total overstatement. It's just parents/guardians who want their little kiddies to get adequate rest because the kiddies DO have school and need to have a properly functioning brain. Also, others don't live like you do... most people don't have work-from-home jobs, so they've got to get up early.

The only reason I'm up so late is because I'm on break... so I go to sleep at around 4 and wake up at 1. lol

EARLY TO BED AND EARLY TO RISE MAKES A MAN HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND WISE.

This is the base on which many people prefer the above policy. Let me tell you, it is wise too, Early morning atmosphere has more Oxygen content, as the green leaves generate Oxygen in the day time and the green leaves generate, Carbon-di-Oxide in the night time.

Everyone to his own !!

It is not wrong, but not useful! Late to bed means late to wake up, which in turns mean less contact and deals with other human fellow. In your case, you deal with people in different way, hence it should be alright to go to bed late, and should not feel that you have done something wrong at all.

Why would you care what "they" think??? I know what you mean though, I've worked nights for many years, And STILL, people just don't get that YOU HAVE TO SLEEP SOMETIME!!! I LOVE the night-time too....QUIET, PEACEFUL.....Ahhhhh. Daytime people aren't nearly as cool as us. And they have much more stress.

If it suits you then fine. However if you pref fer sleeping in day and working at night you may be alone and will not be able to socialize. Rules are guidelines and not to be followed strictly.
