Goose down,jacket. Lots of goretex, and just have fun!

Wear some long johns, Ski pants, Sweater and ski coat. Layers are good because you can always ditch a layer rather than wish you had brought more clothes.

Dress in layers and make sure your outer layer is waterproof. Take a spare pair of gloves because first timers often spend alot of time getting up off the ground and that causes your gloves to get wet. The key is just to stay dry, in which case you will usually stay warm. If you start sweating too much then you need to lose a layer.
