Eggs must have been deposited on the fruit in your hamster's food as well as on the banana peel.

Organisms can only arise from predecessors, and fruitlfy eggs are very small. One would not see them unless careful observation under microscope.

Fruitflies are so plentiful and they are also very small. There will always be some flying around pretty much everywhere. They ussually come in from outside. If fruit rots fruitflies smell it and they lay their eggs on it. Fruitfly eggs are not just there in fruit because fruitflies do not like to lay their eggs on fruit unless it is rotting.

Yeah fruit flies. i'm in a Drosophila lab (fruit fly). The eggs have already been laid on your fruit and fruit flies have a somewhat short era time. After the egg is laid and it takes some million day at room temp. (25C) to hatch right into a generic instar larva. it relatively is a generic instar larva for ~ a million day, then 2d instar for ~ a million day, and 0.33 instar for ~2 days. It spends this time merely ingesting foodstuff and starting to be. for the time of overdue 0.33 instar the larva will circulate slowly to a drier section and pupate. It remains interior the pupal degree for ~5 days. Then it ecloses into an person fly. those flies additionally attain sexual adulthood after in basic terms ~4 hours from eclosing.
