What do you rodent keepers think?

Question

I used to have mice and rats, and now want a snake.
Should I feel bad about feeding frozen mice?

I'm also almost completely vegetarian.

everything has to eat something. i sometimes feel bad when i stun dart a little mouse or rat to feed one of my legless companions, but i understand that i have been charged with taking care of these beautiful animals, and must feed them. i used to apoligize to the little rabbits i had to feed my red tail. snakes have to have meat, they can't selectively find the right fats and protiens in vegetation. so mice are kinda like a tomato.

Well the up side to feeding it frozen mice (from what I hear) is that snakes are less likely to be agressive. I know it's what they eat in the wild but I'd have a hard time feeding it a living mouse or frozen for that matter. Do what you feel is right. Just remember if you do decide to get a snake just because you feel it's bad to feed it a mouse you shouldn't let the snake starve.

I don't think that you should feel bad, that is what they eat in the wild, right? And, plus, you only have to feed it a few mice a month, or how much ever snakes eat, right? Don't feel bad, it's just the way that nature is, snakes eat mice.

i kno how u feel i hav 2 rats & a mouse but now i am thinkin bout gettin a snake.

I feel horrible bout havin to feed them mice....but i think feedin the snake frozen mice iz a lot more human then feedin it alive mice/rats. So dont feel bad
