Sit down with him when he is in a good mood. Tellhim you guys are talking about shared household chores. Make a bit of a chart. Discuss what is and what isin't fair. Then compare this teemwork like a football team where everyone has their job and that a team needs good communications. Rewards etc. Discuss this in terms that he can understand.
If he still doesn't get the taking out the gargage thing....fill his car up with it and tell him he isn't a team player and he is being benched and fined. If he fights the garbage chore. Put in in charge of diapering. Or cleaning toilets. Make it something that will make garbage a piece of cake.
I also suggest to get the largest garbage can you can get for the kitchen wtih a top on it. Then it doesn't have to be a daily empty.
You might have to lower your standards for him........and give him stars for jobs well done, and if he gets a certian number he gets his vavorite dinner or he gets the favoirte part of you.

Wow! All you ask is that he take out the garbage? Where were you when I was single? Taking out the garbage accounts for 1% of what my wife expects me to do around the house!!!
Nagging does not work on me either. The more you nag the more I rebel and don't do what I'm told.
Withhold sex from me and I'll eat the garbage! I'll find Osama and kill him! I'll cure cancer!
Maybe it won't be sex for him, but find something he can't live without and use it to punish him for not doing such a simple chore that I consider a no brainer.

If you can find the answer to this age old problem, PLEASE clue all us women in. My ex. would have lived in a tumbled down shack as long as he had a bottle of whiskey by his side. He never once even took the trash out. I stayed married to this parasite for 29 longgggg years. He said his job was over once the time clocked was punched, but he forgot that I worked too, then had to do everything, including raising our children alone. I just got so I didn't give a rat's *** anymore and once my kids were raised, that slug was out the door and I have never regretted that decision once. Whew! What a relief.

so stop nagging. do not say anything. just do not take care of trash. so animals re coming - why does it bother only u? isn't it his house too? so tell him now only once - "your chore is to take out garbage. i won't say any word anymore". then u will see - maybe a few weeks u will have rotten garbage, but finally he will take care of it and always will be.

Pretty sad that a grown man can't even handle the responsibility of taking out the garbage weekly. Don't give him any more sex until he can be responsible to do his house hold responsibilities,

Well, show him what happens when he doesn't take out the garbage.
Buy some rats and let them loose in the house. ( I got this idea from Season 2 of Desperate Housewives, via Lynette.)
Make sure they **** all over his favorite clothes.

I know how you feel and I'll tell you what worked for me....A hammer through the t.v. screen during his favorite show AND I dumped the garbage over his head. I had to throw out the recliner and buy a new t.v. but I never had to ask him to take the trash out again. Good Luck!

I turn the tv off and take the remote from my husband so that he will get the hint, and it works for me. Then he comes back and watchs tv, and puts a new trash bag in the trash can.

... Just ask him politely if he will do his share of chores (which is only 1 chore, haha) and help you take care of your home... Tell him that in ya'lls marriage each person has to make commitments and taking out the trash needs to be one of his... and if he doesn't abide by that simple chore then just stop giving him what he wants (aka sex)... That will definitely get him to take out the trash

Stop doing his laundry. Or, put the trash in the front seat of his car every week. Either one, or both if you're real pissed, will work wonders...and you won't have to say a word.
