I am about 6 weeks pregnant and although I do not get morning sickness in the morning or through out the day, when bed time comes, I get dizzy. I usually read right before turning off, and I am usually asleep within a 1/2 hour. Now, it has even taken me up to 4 hours to fall asleep. I get dizzy which is followed by nausea. Just when I'm falling asleep, I need to urinate and then I have to start all over. I did notice though that once I get up from bed to urinate, I am no longer dizzy until I get into bed again. Last night, the same thing happend and what eased the dizziness was my husband holding me from behind. Tonight, I also got dizzy which is why I am writing.Has any one had this happen to them? Is this normal? What can be causing this other than the obvious, my pregnancy? What can I do make it go away? I really need some advise. I am getting to point where I only sleep 6-8 hours. It sounds like a good amount of sleep, but it's not when you're pregnant.

I looked at the Menier's disease and that is not at all how I feel. I don't feel like anything is spinning, I just feel dizzy. I have noticed that during the dizziness, I am hungry. Could that be the problem?
Thanks for all your comments by the way!

I've had similar symptoms since I got pregnant and I'm at 25 weeks. My doctor said it's brought on by your body trying to regulate your body heat and oxygen. My dizziness also makes me very nausious and I haven't had any kind of morning sickness. It kind of makes sense that you're getting dizzy in bed since that's when your body does a lot of temperature regulating. I don't know if I'm much help, but at least know that you're not alone. Oh, and as for insomnia...that seems to be very comon in pregnant women. Good luck. My dizziness went away for a little while but it's back..1 more thing: if you live in a high altitude location that could make things worse as well.

I think the other answerer meant meniere's disease. I think that the dizziness goes with your evening sickness. Not everyone has morning sickness. Check with your doctor about this, although, hopefully and most likely it will resolve by itself in a week or two. I had dizziness with both my pregnancies, but not quite as you describe at night. Mine was in the morning and when I would stand from lying down or sitting.

One of the primary symptoms of Monier's disease is dizziness when laying down to the point that often times the person falls out of the bed. I would have it looked into. I do not know if the urge to urinate goes with the Monier's thing or not but I do not think it is PG related.

This is my third pregnancy and during this pregnancy I am also very dizzy. Dizzy to the point of almost fainting especially early in the morning as I am going to work. The doctor says it is due to Anemia. He prescribed Proferrin-Forte iron pills and I feel a lot better.

U need to get your blood pressure checked
Most women suffer from an increased blood pressure.. I on the other hand dont - I have very low blood pressure

Try keeping a bottle of water with you wherever you go
And get up really slowly
The lack of sleep and need to urinate is normal it will pass - hopefully

All the best and good luck :))

Discuss this with your doctor as soon as possible.I think it's related to the pregnancy, but who knows, and you need antenatal care anyway. Good luck.
