I reckon that any race that has undergone the appalling atrocities that some of these races have NEVER forget it. It is instilled into their children as a reminder that really bad s**t happens. Wot annoys me is that some people forget that nearly EVERYONE has a story of abuse at the hands of someone else. Wot about the Indians? Wot about the Somali's?
Wot about the Ugandans? Look wot's happening in Israel? Look wot's happening in Guantanamo? It's that adage - Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
But I agree with you. NOW is a good time to fix things. Not that Iraq is working too well. The Israelis take Palestinians "on suspicion" and lock them up for years without due process. And they have the hide to talk about wot happened to them when they are doing exactly the same thing to others. I lost friends in Lebanon - no-one can tell me they didn't know they were killing innocent civilians. Just as they do in Gaza now. Hypocrisy really annoys me!
