This is the second time I've gotten a gel overlay but by 2 different nail salons.....and, after 2 days (both times), lifting occurs. what should I do?

update: these are my real nails but I have a gel overlay placed on top of my REAL nails to make them harder and for my nails to look professional, nice and done all the time without having to hassle with how they look coz they SHOULD last for at least 3 weeks

You should stop wasting your money and refrain from getting your nails done this way.

Is the nail technician prepping your nails properly? Make sure that they remove all the shine from your natural nail and clean them so they are free of any dust. They may need to use an acid free primer, some people just life easier. Also make sure that they seal the tips of your nails with the gel. Hope this helps.

Don't put your nails in warm or hot water for long time try do something that u don't have wash your hands all the time or wash in cold water not unless the 2nd salon is doing a different job as the first one never go to different salons cause the first one know what they did in the beginnig and they know on the second visit too.

find a new salon because gel nails shouldnt lift. when they lift you can get moisture inbetween your nail and the gel material and fungus can grow.
