Food and shelter attracts possums.
Your garbage, fruits, nuts, vegetables, and snails in the area are the most common sources of possum food.
Firewood piles, rocks, tools, and old pet thoues are the most common shelters.
Lock up the garbage, clean the yard, and posion the snails and bugs. You should then see a lot less of the possums.
You can also try trimming the trees around your yard, and checkng the fences for holes th help keep them out.

Food! I had a young one on my porch every night for a few weeks eating bird seed. I actually hand fed it meat for a few nights. It stayed until 3 young raccoons came in and took over the bird seed.

I have them because they can get inside a shed for shelter and they eat the grapefruit off my tree. What a mess they make!

Dead animals that they can eat. They would rather eat than breed. Not me though. I am just the opposite.
