Almost everything discovered and explored in the human body is known to be governed by what are known as genes. All these genes are present in two copies; one inherited from the father and the other from the mother. Each copy codes for a unique function like determination of blood group. Now in a person one copy of blood group gene may be for A+ and the other be for O+. But the dominant of these is A+. Similar condition may be for B+. So in case the mother is carrying one copy for A+ and other copy for O+, she will be A+. And the father will be B+ if he carries one copy of the gene for B+ and other for O+. But however, they both are going to pass only one of their copies of the gene to their kid. Now the possiblities are the mother giving A+ copy and father giving B+ copy in which case the child will be AB+ or mother gives A+ and father O+ in which case the child will be A+ or Mother gives O+ and father gives B+ in which case the child will be B+ and the last chance both the parents giving O+ in which case the child will be O+.

The blood type depends upon the random combinations of blood alleles. If father is A+ and mother is B+ their baby can have A+ as a blood type if A+ allele is dominant of both A+ and B+, can have B+ as a blood type if B+ is dominant and if both A+ and B+ are equally dominant then baby can have AB blood type. And if both A+ and B+ are not dominant or incomplete dominant then baby can have O+ or O- as a blood type.

Yes its possible in the following situation
FATHER A+ Genotype is AO or AA
MOTHER B+ Genotype is BO or BB
If the child gets OO genes then the blood group would be OO.

if the father is A then technically he's AO. same for the mother. so there is a 25% chance that the baby will be O+.

Yes. My parents are as described and I am O+. This is due to the genetics of allelic inheritance. My parents are A+O+ and B+O+, and I inherited both O alleles, which is the only way to be blood type O. However, it is extremely unlikely to get an RH negative blood type from RH positive parents without mutation, usually brought on through drug or alcohol abuse.

Yup. That is my pedigree, except I'm O-. The parents are AO and BO, so its possible for the child to only get the O's from both parents.

Yes. Blood type is independent of what the parents blood type is. Blood type should not be used to determine paternity. Only DNA testing can do that.
