So far all the answers above are pretty close. I agree with the above though. "Lust is a want. Love is a have." However, not 100%. Lust is definitely a want, something that you want to have it fulfilled there and then, and also something that will be gone after it's being fulfilled. Love, on the other hand, is a need. Love is something that you need, even after you have love, you still want more of it, it never satisfies your need for love, but it does make you give up. In fact, it makes you strive harder and harder for it, especially when you have found the person that you really love. Hope this answers your question.

Well, lust only involves only sexual desire. Love is more about desire for that person you love in general, not only on sexual terms. Love is more about wanting to be around that person, wanting that person to be happy.
Think of it this way. If you were feeling lust for someone, you'd want to have sex with that person or kiss that person, or something else pysical.
If you loved that person, you'd want to be around him or her.
