They day after christmas is called the BOXING day in all british ruled countries .
It is called so because , on that day people will exchange gifts on account of christmas . As gifts will be given in gift wrapped BOXes , it is called the BOXING day .

As only australia will have a summer ( because it is in the southern hemisphere) , they have been traditionally hosting boxing day test matches from more than a hundered years.

Since readmission of South africa into test cricket , even they are doing the same.

It is BOXING DAY, not bauxinglay. 26th December, the day after Christmas, is called Boxing Day in Australia. The Test Match at Melbourne Cricket Ground always starts on that day and hence the name "Boxing Day Test".

Boxding Day Test.

ahh, that would be the BOXING DAY test match, that being the day after CHRISTMAS DAY here in australia, its a national holiday, no one knows what for really, it just is. the test always starts on boxing day, the other tests in other cities each year will start on different days.
