you can use a special 'cup' that catches the blood flow and you won't need either tampons or pads. you can do some research on it...
then there's tampons. please don't go with anything too big or else it will be uncomfortable, especially during a light flow, like the end of your period. If you start out too big, that could make your cramps worse. On the first day, I use normal sized ones during the day, then switch to a superabsorbent one at night ,and back to normal.
some have baking soda to prevent odors, and some have deodorant. some are even sized for smaller slim people. I don't know which one you will go for, but for now, I use tampons. i was thinking of switching to the cup thing.

Yes, ,Tampons are a good choice but when you buy the tampons make sure you read the directions on how to use them....do not leave them in longer than 3 hours..for health risk....

I use both. Depends on my mood i guess. Usually the first day its all about pads. then after tampons are cool. I feel totally normal and comfortable. No need to worry about them. try it, you'll be soooo happy when you do.

tampons are a great choice if you use the properly. keeping them in too long can cause TSS (toxic shock syndrome). Go get some, read the directions, follow them, and you should be fine.
