There is this common stereotype seen here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av0FrgAYwxeCUt0ZhkgEhBkjzKIX?qid=1006052216618 that when popular kids get older, they somehow become fat, less succesful, and less well liked. Well, I am almost at my 10 year high school reuinion and it has become obvious this is untrue. The people who were popular 10 years ago all have good jobs, are almost all married or engaged, and are all pretty happy. The unpopular kids are still lacking in confidence, shy, insecure, and a few are on anti-depressants. I knew kids from both sides of the fence in high school fairly well since I was "in the middle" basically.
So, do peple just *want* to believe that the popular kids lose in the end? Or, is my high school just unique? It is proven that good looks, confidence, and charisma (which makes people popular) also helps with career success... so why would popular kids suddenly do worse after HS? (PS. Drug addicts are another story... )
