The people who think that are the ones who materially benefit from imperialism. Alternately, there are people crushed by imperialism who are so destroyed by it that they feel they have no choice but to support the imperialist system that oppresses them.

The only ones who think it's a good thing are those who have made their millions. Never mind the people they had to crush to get there and the people they have to keep down to stay there.

the monroe doctirine said that it was our(america's) duty to protect the americas against the european powers, some how politicians and coorporate america (think bananna republic, not the store) said that we, as christians ,should tell the rest of the world how to live. nobody ever said it was good. they just just said it was good for us. And if we want to piss on the neighbors and not be held accountable, i guess they were right.
