i like reading what other peopel have to say and competing for best answer
but if i did ask a question i might read the answers
or just be lazy and ignore the whole damned thing

I don't see any point in asking a question if I'm not going to read the answers.
that's like not reading the comment you got on a best answer.

They all read their answers. I guess the only time they don't is when they have more than 100 results on questions like "coke or pepsi".
