One country/culture/ people taking advantage of the vulnerabilty of another...and improving their own access to profits and cheap products.

I see it as the same thing.

Do people in the USA even care that all the cheap, great stuff they can get these days are the result of people who slave away 14 hrs a day just for pennies?

Or do you argue that Capitalism is a great thing and you dont care?

What you are describing my friend, is the United States. It is the global integrated economy that we promoted and shoved down the throats of so many countries that promotes this standard. Without offshoring manufacturing jobs, our companies in the US cannot compete globally and they cannot survive a soley domestic market against other companies that are global.

Don't fool yourself, China is more capitilist than the United States so take some time to pull the wool off thats been covering your eyes.

Capitilism is a great thing in theory. In practice, it is flawed. The flaw of capitilism allows for those with financial wherewithal to posses more allowing for a greater gap in those who have and those who dont. The United States raged many a subterfuge to promote capitilism to promote the world to where it is today.

I've been working and living in China back and forth for seven years, have visited many factories. When I was in high school, I worked in a factory in the USA and it was no worse than the conditions I've experienced at many factory locations in China. In fact the hours I work in my professional job are about 14 hours a day on average. So if you took my 70k salary and parsed it out on a hourly bases, I'm making nearly the same wage as a McDonalds manager at $14.00 /hr. (but I love my job)

When you make your statements about slave labor, are you calculating the buying power of their currency by their standards or yours? Or do you feel that because only make a few cents an hour and feel outraged because they should at least be earning a minimum wage standard similar to the United States? You cannot compare apples to steak. I can buy a 24 oz bottle of Budweiser in China for 50 cents. The price at my Chicago grocery store is 2.62

People working in the manufacturing industry in China do so willingly. No one is forced to work in factories, in fact these jobs are very competitive. The ministry of Labor is REQUIRED to provide health insurance to all the employees and many factory locations have health facilities on site. Factory workers can go to their local health center, sit in a chair and receive anti-biotics intreveniously. Usually within minutes.. Try going to ANY hospital in the united states (if you are lucky enough to have good insurance) and see how long it takes.

People who stand on soap boxes claiming Chinas human rights this or that, should go there and see for themselves. It is a safe country, you will be treated with respect. Don't always believe what you see and read in the news, the airways and information resources are owned by the richest companies in the world with interests, our society has been plagued with a fear building media since 911. Go to China and see for yourself, you wont regret it.
