Personally, I think they're both good.

i think Dell is better, but it also depends on how you use it.

A PC is now considered a "commodity".
Functionality is pretty much identical. The Internet doesn't care which brand you have.
In fact, some parts are bought from the same suppliers.

I make my choice generally on features and price-- Dell, HP, or whatever.
For me, of the two you've noted here, HP would edge out as:
1) Price - Often, you can pick one up laden with rebates.
2) Once the rebates are figured into the price, you'll find you have a more feature-rich PC(larger HD, more memory, better monitor, chosen loaded programs, and often a printer thrown into the mix) for a bit less than a Dell.
3) Recovery of OS (should you need to restore your Operating System) is made a much easier process on HP.

Dell on the other hand will extend you a separate line of credit, if you don't have a credit card/cash to pick up an HP

So which is better ? HP or Dell

I'd go features and Price, Give me an HP.

Dell and HP computers and laptops will have similar configurations that have exactly the same components on the inside, so they are essentially the same, so there is no difference.

All that you are buying is a pretty case with a Dell or HP badge with exactly the same thing on the inside. Dell and HP don't make computers (or parts), they assemble them from commonly available parts that Intel, AMD and other companies make.

If you want to get picky, you could compare Dell or HP support, have used both and they both have problems, but I've always built my own PCs from parts bought at newegg, so I am my own service department now.

I'm a Dell fan. Actually, I'm a Mac fan. But I've had Dells and HPs, and I think the Dells run better. HPs aren't bad either though. I very much dislike Compaq and Gateway.

Dell is quite higher rated than HP. According to their prospectus, Dell is dominating market, it is durable and efficient in comparison to HP.
However HP is a big name and can perform better at times, it has more wider advertisement ventures.
There are different measurements but I will prefer Dell always.

HP is rated highly.

Although the company I work for uses nothing but Dell.

I bought an HP in 1998 for $1800. (wow, prices have really gone down since then). That computer still runs like a champ. Never once--ever had a problem with it. But alas, I needed bigger, better, faster--so it sits collecting dust.

i might decide on a Gateway myself i've got had this one for just about 5 years devoid of any issues in simple terms had to do some advancements by way of the years to maintain it as much as velocity yet it truly is in simple terms me. Hp makes diverse solid desktops yet Dells shopper provider is lots greater effective in case you have a topic

I agree. Both are good. I am more partial to Dell's though, while my husband is currently an HP user.
