The diameter of a circle is always twice the radius. So if the radius is 5cm, then the diameter of the circle is 2 x 5 = 10cm.

As per the definition of chords: Diameter is the longest chord which passes through the centre of the circle and the length of this chord is the distance between two points on the circle passing through the centre(Collinear pts).
From that Diameter = 2(Radius of the circle)
hence Diameter of the given circle =2*5
=10 cm.

The diameter of a circle is always two times of the radius.
d = 2r
if r = 5 cm, then
d = 2 x 5 = 10 cm

There is a straightfoward way of finding the diameter of a circle with a known radius r. The area of the circle is pi r^2. From this we can derive the circumference, from the relation A = 1/4 C D, where C is the circumference and D is the diameter. But we know that C = 2 pi r. Therefore D must be 2r. If r is 5 cm, then D must be 10 cm. QED.

radius (r) of a circle is the distance betn the centre of the circle and any point on the circle.
diameter (d) of a circle is the farthest distance betn any two points on the circle. hence a diameter must pass thro' the centre of the earth. since a diameter joins two points on the circle with the centre, it's value is twice that of the radius.
here, r = 5cm
therefore, d = 2r = 2 x 5 = 10cm
