I had unprotected sex Dec. 19th and am not due for my period until around the 1st of Jan. or so. I've been really tired lately, eating a lot of weird foods, have no menstral cramps, sore breasts and white spots around my nipples. I have a pregnancy test but I've heard I should wait, so should I just wait until a week after my missed period if I don't get it. or does it sound like i'm pregnant?

You can get results from *most* tests 5 days before you miss. Read the directions/advertisements for your test to be sure, but some that you can use that soon are HPT, First Alert and Clearblue Easy.
I don't know if you always have those symptoms as part of PMS. I know I almost always do, but not every single time.
If you are worried, wait until 5 days before and take the test with your first urine after waking. If it comes up negative the chances are good that you are not PG. If it comes up positive, the odds are excellent (99.9%) that you are.

It does sound like a possibility!!
Star in incorrect there...*most* tests need a dosage much to high to test before you miss your period! If you want to test this early, you need to use something like AimStick Pregnancy Test Strip which needs the lowest amount of hormones, which is 20 mIU, compared to 40 or more in "regular" tests.
There is a downfall to testing this early and that is miscarriage! At least half of all fertilized, implanted eggs are miscarried...only thing is that at least half of those women who go through this don't even know they were ever pregnant! If you know you were pregnant even those few days and then you miscarry, you may have a much harder time with this compared to simply starting your period when you didn't know you were ever carrying. Having said that, I would wait until you are due or until your period is actually LATE before testing.

For the pregnancy test, check to see on the instructions how early you can test for pregnancy.
I don't think you should wait until you miss your next period.

i am in the same boat you are. same symptoms and everything. but if you go to www.webmd.com and do the ovulation calender it will tell you the best day to take a test. mine is this sunday. and i am supposed to get my period on the first also. hope this helps. we are ttc also.

TAKE THE TEST! If it says negative, then you can get another one and re-test later. Ya never know, it might say positive and you'll know NOW! = )

if u believe u are preggo...just keep testing...better yt..go to the Dr...they will be able to do a blood test for you...good luck!
