People are brought up to believe in a religion by their families from birth. Then, in puberty, they find out they are gay. It is impossible for them to just stop believing what they have been taught. So they either have to try to convince the Catholic Church to change its opinion or to live by its doctrines, which, at the present time, say that a person can be homosexually oriented, but must live either as a celibate or get married for the purposes of having and raising children. Of course some gay people do leave the Catholic church and either join a more liberal form of religion or become atheists.

As far as the Catholic Church is concerned they can't!
But then how can a Catholic who uses birth control (including condoms) exist?
And again the answer is they can't as far as the Catholic Church is concerned. The Catholic Church does not allow it's members to use any form of birth control.
How can a Catholic Priest who is sexually involved with another person exist?
They can't because the Catholic Church does not allow it's priests to marry or be sexually involved with anybody be it str8 or gay sex!!!
All of these things happen yet the Catholic Church does not allow them!!!
How can that be?
Who is going heaven and who is going to hell???
Which sinner is worse the Catholic gay man who is sexually involved with another man, a man he truly and sincerely loves or the Catholic Priest who is breaking is vow of celibacy and having sex with a women behind all his parishioners backs and behind the back of the church he devoted his life to???
Just my thoughts on it all.
*hugs*

If a person was raised Catholic and believed in most of their religious ideology but also discovered through puberty that they were gay, sometimes they still choose to hold onto their beliefs in-spite of their sexuality. There are gay Catholic organizations.

They can exist because Romans were very gay and they created the Roman Catholic church. Most important figures in Ancient Rome and Greece were gay perverts and had gay sex parties. A lot of priests are gay, probably everybody at the Vatican including the pope since he's never had a woman in his life. That's why there is so many gay priest molesting little boys, if it was only a handful of priest that molested boys then it would be isolated incidents. Since its over 500 priests that molested kids in the U.S. alone, that show that priests are gay in general.

Simple:when your parents are Catholic and they get a gay kid and take it to services, the lot it has had a Catholic upbringing, right?
What's that got to do with some ones sexual preferences?
Not a thing.
How come that more and more Catholic priests get caught raping young children?Read:boys.
They are Catholic too?
What's up with that then.
You do have some thinking to do:
We were all created after his image, weren't we?

Catholicism is more varied than first meets the eye. Not every Catholic believes everything the pope says is right, and not every Catholic believes the bible is against gays.
