Both full frontal and rear nudity, yet we have yet to see a completely naked man(full frontal)? We usually see rear ends...
When and will the movie industry change?
And NO I don't want to have to watch a porno video to get a glimpes of a mans penis..This is not what the topic of this question was about...I am talking about intrustry standards and views..

I go to watch a movie. not to point out who's naked or not..But I am curious..to this reasoning.

I would think because a penis is more disgusting to the eye than the friendly beaver. Plus a woman's body is beautiful (curves, breasts and such)...and a males is ugly as dirt.

Generally speaking, men are more visually stimulated than women, and this is what the market caters for. I'm rather partial to the naked male body, so I've often wondered the same as you, or at least wished for some change in the industry (frankly, I'm quite sick of seeing women's bits - it's not that offensive to me, but it's just too common). I guess if enough women say it's what we want to see, they'll start showing us naked men. Though I've noticed international (usually European) films will show more of a man than Western flicks.

I agree. I think is is unfair. I'm not a perv, I just think since women have to do it the men should too. It is only fair. This is what I think. I think movies where women are completely naked are used to get regular women like us a false feeeling that, that is what our bodies should look like. At least that is what the man making the movie feels. Why would the man making the movie film a movie with naked men that would make him and other man feel crappy about their own body. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. I hope it makes sense to you.

Its not the matter of whether its fair. Do you think the women are forced to get naked? No..they do it for money. thats what some losers pay to see. And the naked women dont care. Just dont watch it if you dont like it. Its that easy. Its no ones fault but the peopel who watch it, and the women who do it. (Im not saying its all women either, men are usually the ones who pay for it, luckily im not a guy like that) I get your point too. And I very much agree.

Sex sells and women's bodies have always been the chattel of choice. Why? Traditionally in Western society, men held the power and money, and they were the consumers. That is slowly changing as the glass ceiling lowers and thins. Women have more marketing power today.

I think social sexual mores play a lot into it as well. It has always been easier to sexualize a woman... maybe due to that whole chattel thing.

Very good question. Wish I had more knowledge.

good question this was once asked to some actress several years ago, i remember the article because Demi Moore just posed on a magazine pregnant, she had said if i remember right that the men's parts are not attractive to look at.
As when the movie industry change I don't know , it should be equal.

Hmm, kind of interesting. I guess women have been a sex symbol more than men are these past decades. You can get a woman in a bikini and no one will flinch, yet you get a hairy man in a speedo and that's all of a sudden disgusting. I guess we are just more used to seeing women wearing the tighter, revealing clothing than we are with men.

Hello, I think it's because men are in charge. I really think it's as simple as that. I would however like to see women in charge and turn the tables on men. I do understand where your coming from and have wondered about this myself from time to time. It use to bother me but now I have just come to the realization that it's men in charge and many women are weak.

In just a few words:

--Sexism (in men's favor).

--Industry control/domination of the studios, scripts, camera's, censorship powers by men.

--Women have yet to effectively and collectively organize for change.

--Money talks and men still control an excessive portion of it in comparison to their population.

It's no secret that Playboy and its ilk have been around for many more decades than Playgirl.

The assumption is that women are thought not to be interested in male anatomy. The average straight male is really not much to look at.
