Will this effect my sports activities or any heavy lifting in the future?

Well, to put an effective cast on a bone, you have to prevent it from moving. With a broken lower leg for example, you cast over the foot and thigh to ensure that neither of these joints move.

The collar bone on the other hand, is attached to the shoulder, the back, the rib cage, and the neck. To put a proper cast on it, you would have to prevent the motion of your arm and your neck, as well as keeping you from shrugging or breathing normally.

Until it's healed, you definitily will want to avoid lifting and sports. I'm no doctor, so what happens after that is beyond my knowledge, but I do know a guy who had his collar bone completely destroyed, and he had to tell me before I knew.

You can't put a cast on your collar bone so there is nothing you can do for it. If you let it heal properly, don't do too much lifting or anything like that, it should be like you never broke it. Good luck!

What are you talking about? Bones always heal on their own, doctors just put your arm or leg in a cast so that your bones heal properly.

Plus, the collar bone or your clavicle is the weakest bone in your body (it only takes 7lbs to break it) because of its s shape. Do not worry, it'll heal in time. Your body is slowly repairing your clavicle.
