how does the 'power' on my '95 subaru imprezza awd L 2 door work?

the light went on for a brief period, i didnt push any buttons, what is the power why and when does it go on, and can i put it on manuelly?

The power switch allows your tranny to rev higher in between hifts to give to an extra bit of umph for passing and the such.

Some cars have a POWER switch. i don't think your car has the switch because it has the Manual switch.

The power should light to inform the driver that the transmission basically has switched into sport mode. This should be during hard take offs or passing manuvers.
