I was abused as a child, but it wasn't until recently that I remembered the abuse. How do you get over it and move on with your life?

Hi, I am so sorry that your childhood was taken from you. The fact that you just recently remembered means that you are ready to face it and heal yourself. You need to find a counselor that you trust who will help you get through it. One thing you can keep telling yourself is YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU. IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT. Acknowledging this and believing it will speed your healing. Good Luck!

I was also abused back then. Peopel get over it differently. Some take more time than others. people usualy think that they aren't cleaned or useless compared to before what hapenned. Everybody's special and has good qualities. Think about all the people around who care about you and love you. Be with them and share the happyness with them. The past is the past, there's nothing to do about it because it is already done. What you should focus more is your futur. What can improve your lifestyle? What is your goal in life? Use that motivation to move on. Don't pressure yourself from the past. Life is a bit risky. I have put that in my mind and my futur is going well. Don't get yourself down because of bad people. Go seek help if you need. Good luck

I know what it's like to be abused as a child. It's difficult but you can't let your past, ruin your future. For me, I turned to my faith which has gotten me through a lot. I discovered religion at a very early age and it has gotten me through so much. It still carries me through and I'm a much better person. Religion may not be the best solution for everyone (not everyone is Religious) so if you are having a really tough time, try seeing a counselor who specializes in these situations. There are ways to get through this with the proper help. Don't ignore it. Trying to suppress it will only cause you to have even more problems in the future.

I wish you the best.
Blessings to you.

Jesus said turn the other cheek.

Martin Luther King Jr... allowed those white people to abuse him over and over again.... and kept marching... and then
a white man shot him.... And Martin Luther King Jr, because
of his courage, everybody remembered his name....

So we all can't get over abuse, but you can use that to
help other people who are ashamed and are still hurting
and be a good role model for them, they will thank you for that.
