I see alot say like cut it, or drill holes, but where? and how? and will it do anytihng to truck its self? What about if I put I shiny tip on it?

Cut off the muffler and have a glass pack installed as close to the catalytic converter as possible. Dump the outlet downward toward the pavement under the truck (not out the sides). This will cost you $60 at a muffler shop. Sounds great on my 06 Silverado.

Sounds even better on my 74 F100 (no catalytic converter).

Get a hole saw and make 4 holes in each fender, about 2 inches or so in diameter.

Weld up some custom headers that come straight from the manifold and out the fenders. With your exhaust pipes being all of 18 inches long, you'll have the loudest truck on the block.

Booyah!

i dont recomend this but if you want to really change the tone, go down to autozone pick up a cherry bomb and some clamps shoul cost about $20, hack off the stock muffler and put the new in and its that ez. but why not save up a couple of bucks and go to a muffler shop and have them put in a flowmaster or somthing it should cost less then $200. Good luck

Nothing. You start drilling holes in your dad's truck and I see trouble on the horizon for you. The shiny tip won't do anything, it's an appearance item.

Me I would put 2 1/5 to 3 inch pipes on it with Flowmaster mufflers on it. Just like the Mustangs, nothing to hard, nothing to little.

if you want to do it with no money you have to cut the "silencer pipe" or what some people refer to as the exhaust.
Thats the cyllinder at the bottom of your truck that emitts the smoke. One primary purpose of this cullinder is to reduce noice during throttle, and therefore cy cutting it you can make it sound meaner....

The 5.4 would not have a timing belt simply by fact the cams are chain pushed and if the chain broke the engine would not run and can have bent valves. i might wager the different posters are suited suited, that a spark plug has come loose or blown itself out of the threads. If a sparkplug has certainly blown itself out the threads interior the cylinder head will could desire to be repaired and this might fee a pair of greenbacks. desire this enables!
