I've driven through the desert (in the USA), and I've always seen a few houses just in the middle of nowhere, so I was wondering if the a letter carrier delivers mail to them on a daily basis.

Also, does FedEx deliver packages to the middle of nowhere? It must be a waste of a drive to deliver one package that takes hours and hours to get to.

Yes, they do. Actually, the need to deliver mail to people who live in the middle of nowhere is one of the reasons why the postal service is run by the federal government. Ideally, the relatively high cost of such deliveries is compensated by the relatively low cost of deliveries in big cities.

As for courier services, such as FedEx, they deliver wherever you want them to, but, unlike the postal service, they will charge you an amount that is commensurate with their cost of delivery to a particular place.

Yes my boyfriend was driving thru a remote part of the Florida Keys and they had a post office on the side of the road that looked like an outhouse literally and there was nobody in sight or nothing resembling a town.

alot of places It's anywhere from every 2 days to once a fortnight. Alot of people opt to have PO Boxes- and find that although you can have stuff delivered it costs 10x the usual price

I live in the middle of nowhere, and we usually get out mail. Sometimes the carrier pigeon gets lost.

While there is mail service 6 days a week, sometimes there is a post office box and the people pick it up!

You are putting the cart before the horse - mail only comes when people write to you and people who live ''in the middle of nowhere'' probably don't have anyone who writes to them.

if they live in the middle of no where the are probably tryin to avoid people.. and they pay their bills online so they dont recieve mail. but if a relative does write them a letter.. they have those vaccuum tubes so they recieve it right away

..maybe not but i guess they would have to drive that whole way. or maybe a helicopter or plane drops it
