Because it wouldn't sound as good.
The original name was going to be Oraltene, but marketing advised against the use of Oral as part of the name of a drink mix targeted at children.

Ovaltene is a chocolaty breakfast drink from the early 1950's. It was first advertised on a morning TV show starring JET JACKSON and his sidekick "Ichy", Ichabod Mudd. A fighter pilot who always saved the day...
Perhaps the jar had an oval shape back then? Why don't you do some advanced research on the product line?

the alphabet "got" in that order due to its etymological roots.

aleph meant cow in yiddish (looks like an upside down A)
bethel meant home (looks like a B on its side)
etc...
