Our daughters b Day is the same day. We go to a new years party every year and text her at midnight to say happy birhday and new year. We talk to her on the phone later in the day. She has no problem with this. It's all about acknowledging the birthday.

We have a family member who has a b-day on Xmas, so we celebrate in June...We call it her half birthday. That way no one forgets it and will be able to party with her instead of splitting it with a holiday.

Of course, bring in the new year together and do something a little special like explaining to him how you feel about him and how much you've grown together but most importantly tell him how you look forward to being with him next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
