Nope, actually, classical music uses many of the same pathways in the brain that math does.

Look at the all of the misspellings of the people that are for it and then decide. Even the people that want to connect math to music seem to suggest that if you can count to 4 you have math down!
How well you want to learn a subject is connected to the concentration you give the subject at hand.

Music is a pre math skill.
you count the beats.
I am sure doing math to music will help you get your rhythm grooving.
I teach 18 month olds-8 yr olds and teachers to teach kids the steady beat, and how to keep beat is steady feel the beat, and have them tap it on their head and watch me, and i change to my shoulders. keep the beat so steady, feel the beat.

musicans count 1, 2, 3, 4 and tap their foot as they play.
it's all connected to math.
living and learning in 3/4 time.

Nothing wrong at all. It's an enhancer!
get your groove on and do your math.
(why do you think we tap our pencils when we are thinking of the answer?)

NO, NOT AT ALL I THINK DOING MATHS ALONG WITH HEARING MUSIC IS MUCH BETTER THAN TAKING A MATHS BOOK AND GETTING CONFUSED WITH MATHS PROBLEMS!
