It should be a while before you start to produce colostrum, i started leaking a little bit when i was about 7-8 months pregnant. then it can take a few days after the baby is born to produce milk.

You are very unlikely to start producing colostrum until after week 20. I am 23 weeks and haven't seen any colostrum yet.

Congratulations!
Some women don't produce colostrum until they've delivered their babies, other women start producing from about 16 weeks on (that was me!).
Both extremes and everything in the middle is perfectly normal!
Some women notice their nipples don't get much darker than normal at all - perfectly normal. Other women notice a dramatic darkening in colour - also normal.

This is perfectly normal. I have had 2 children and didn't produce anything until I was about 7 months pregnant, although this can differ from person to person, you are still in the earlier stages of pregnancy so I would find it surprising if you were producing. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy, dirty nappies and crying babies come all too soon so relax while you can and stop worrying about things that are normal. You can always ask your midwife if you think there is something to worry about. Good luck and congrats.

Why do you need colostrum now? Your breasts have another 27 weeks at least before it is needed! Everyones breasts are different, some just the aerola darkens, some it doesnt, some womens breasts get bigger other womens breasts dont. Everyone individual.

i am 8 weeks pregnant and did produce colostrum in weeks 5 and 6 so it depends on your body.
hang in there it will come eventually

Colostrum doesn't usual start until the later months. I think I had some when I was closer to seven months pregnant. Your nipples become darker as your pregnancy progresses.

The colostrum doesnt come till after the baby comes ..Colostrm stays in the breast for 3-5 days then the reg milk comes out for the baby to drink..the baby can drink the colostrum too of course!!

Hi my daughter is now 5 months old, i never produced any colostrum until she was born, my nipples never got any darker either, but my breasts did get alot bigger. (they soon go aswell, i do miss having big boobs!!)
