I need to replace one and by looking at my choices, the two i have to choose from are identical except, one is called a tr and the other is a uf. Whats the diff?

I have no idea and my son-in-law, a master electrician says the same. Replace it with one identical to the one taken out. Go to Home depot and ask them or Lowes. Or, the place you bought it at.

The TR and UF have to do with the flange style of the element. UF stands for Universal Flange. I am not sure what TR stands for maybe Type Related.
