I'm guessing you were looking under the process tab in your task manager and you saw iexplore.exe, which is there because you have Internet explorer (I.E.) open. if you don't have Internet explorer open and you still see this, this generally means you have a hidden pop up somewheres and its just reading what kind of browsing you are doing. if you close it in the task manager it does no damage but close any I.E. windows you have open. but to delete the actual file in program files will delete it from your hard drive. thus making it unavailable for use.

iexplore.exe is Internet Explorer. Technically speaking, there is a way to remove it, however, IE is so integrated into the Windows Operating System, that it is not recommended. For instance, you cannot use Windows Update or Microsoft Update without it.
If you still want to remove it, you can find the instructions by using any popular search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.)

just a guess....sounds like an EXECUtable file....it might be best to proceed with caution. look up iexplore on google, too. Dragging to the trash could execute this file as well. If your on PC, which is a fine comp., are you aware that APPLE's have never received one, well actually, just ONE virus? That's probably what ypou donb't want to hear. But, caution is good until you're sure. Peace.
