I live in a City which is ran mainly by Democrats. Some of the Laws are outright rediculous! First of all; There is this law where you must shovel snow from the sidewalk in front of your house! But one problem; The sidewalk belongs to the city government! I guess they are to afraid of the cold! Next is the Smoking ban. This is a stupid law! If you know they allow smoking in certain buildings; Don't Go there! Its that simple! Not to mention the contaminants that the government is allowing to be put in our food is just as bad or even worse! More and more people are seeing the light and switching to an organic diet. All of our good paying jobs are either in Mexico or on their way!!!! I do not hold this against all Democrats. But why have the one's in my city failed miserably? Why are we sending our jobs to other countries? Why not let a man make at least enough money to care for his family? When you already have kids; Its tough to go to school and work at the same time!

dems didn't back the smoking ban here. if you are looking to blame someone for local and state government rights being gone. look to the 1860s.

Try asking the Republicans all these questions. They are ones that love tax breaks for the rich which means failed schools, failed students, failed parents of students who attend failed schools. It also means another generation of mentally ill veterans coming back from the Iraq War. The lose of America's reputation and respect in the world. The bankruptcy of the Country while we sell it to the Chinese.
Frankly, this selfish idea of destroying governments and empowering individuals leads to the situation we are in now.
No effective laws and quality control, No reality in assessing problems that we face on a daily bases, and it goes on and on.

big brother heard this line and has heard it to the point that they acted on it a long time ago, they returned power to state and local governments to coerce all of us to lock~step~methodologies so they could catch anyone out of line, they are the enemies and they are the citizens we will never get to be, they get elected, they get to vote their own raises their own retirements they have everything they want and ~ there are so many folks at the bottom to screw they don't want it to fail, so be a good boy and don't get out of line cause it only does make it worse, that is how the minorities make there statements is that the people need more tighten controls to properly give u the best treatment available for them to assure u'll be just a good boy, they tell u don't rock-the-boat, by the time most of us wake up and smell their roses we are in their pockets and we haven't got the system to oust them, i traced it back to when we had our early wars in America that all the good men went to battle and left the girls and the country in the hands of obese sick undesirable characters and they set the stage for the modern race of civilization

Believe it or not, that smoking ban was probably voted on by the people and not by your local government. We have one in affect in my area and i'm tired of people blaming the government when it was actually an issue that people voted on. Consider that shoveling snow a favor in your part, would you shovel it or would you rather pay a fine.
BUT most local governments are worthless, i'd admit with you on that, but if you don't like it, fight it. That's all I have to say, there's probably a large amount people that agree with you on some issues and with probably back you up. Go with it.

Lack of envolvement by the general public is why and how local governments get away with bs, one must use theri capabilities to bring forth issues , ie, talk rado , the net, phone calls, only takes a few minutes to do on a daily basis.
