For lack of a better way to put this, it seems likely that your husband may be drawing blanks, meaning he may not be producing enough living sperm. Both of you should see a doctor. It is more common than people may think, that some men cannot impregnate a woman due to this reason. I have a feeling from what you say, this is probably the cause. Its no one's fault if his sperm count is low, but doctor's have ways of increasing your chances of pregnancy if it is low. Good luck.

6mths may seem like a lot of time trying to conceive but it's actually not. most doctors do not consider there to be a problem until couples have been trying at least a year. There is a 80% chance of conception by 9-10mths of ttc. you still have plenty of time for it to happen. don't worry just yet. :)
i do know how you feel as far as being depressed that it is not happening. my wife and i have been trying to have a baby for 18mths. we have picked up a book that has been a lifesaver- whether you have been trying 6mths or 18mths or not at all.. this book will help you in your quest for a baby. it's called, "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler. you can even get software with it which will compute your charts for you when you take your temps.
those ovulation predictors aren't always reliable! they are only really reliable if you have perfect cycles and few do. i would suggest charting and temping and the book might be a good start.
hope this helps and good luck!

You very well could be, though 6 months of trying is not quite the average. Most people try for about a year before they are blessed.
What was your method of contraception prior to TTC?
If it was Depo, count on at least 9 months for your body to normalize and you begin to ovulate.
Did you have regular cycles before you started contraception?
There are about 25 more questions I can think of that will give enough info to even begin to know if something is 'wrong'.
At this point, only your doc can tell if there is a medical reason you are not conceiving.
See the doc if in doubt.
Good luck, HTH

If you've ever had an infection or STD or anything, you could have blocked tubes. (Which is fixable) Speak to your doctor about doing tests to see if that's the case...
I'm in the same boat you are right now. I've had PID before, which can cause tubal blockage. I have an appointment.
Remember, the doctor will want proof that you've been TTC the right way. (Ex. Documentation of basal body temp, proof of the positive ovulation strips, etc.)
Just relax, and look into that. I wish you the best of luck!

I don't claim this as fact.
Just from my own observations, it seems to take people longer to conceive when they are trying to get pregnant. From my experience and that of others around me it seems that "accidents" happen much more frequently then planned pregnancies. A married couple I know have been trying to conceive for 2 years. They are both in working order, and they finally just got pregnant.
So keep trying and if you're really concerned have you and your partner see a doctor.
GOOD LUCK!

Get your Husbands semen analysis done. His total sperm count should be more than 60 million for you to conceive. There are lot of other factors to be checked. But this is the basic step.He has to abstain from sex for a period of 4 days and give his semen sample in the laboratory. If suppose there is problem in either of you then alternative medicines are also very effective.you can contact through www.unanidoctors.com for professional advices and treatment.

Yes you are missing a few things. Get checked out by your Ob/Gyn to see if you are fertile. Also, do not forget to have your husband checked out for his sperm count. If he is shooting blanks, then you can try all you want and you will not get pregnant. In the mean time, keep at it every day and enjoy yourselves while trying. HAVE FUN.

Get a fertility monitor. They are about 200 dollars but I have heard of women who were trying for months and months to get pregnant and after using the monitor for one cycle, they got pregnant. Some women it took 2-3 cycles...but it is worth a shot. It tells you the 2 days that you are at your peak fertility. Good luck!

I agree, try going to the doctor (a Fertility Specialist), there could be something simple that needs to be corrected that is hindering pregnancy, and if it is something more serious you would want to know. Most of the time it is something that can be corrected.
